Custom boutique style in Russian Hill
We cannot stop swooning over 1365 Union Street’s beautiful design and special attention to detail. Our team here at studio D always feels lucky to partner with such renowned developers as Andrew Broughton and Tony DiGiorgio of Adamas Builders, designer Jennifer Tidwell of Piper Sage Design, and realtors Butch Haze + Rick Teed of Compass. Snatched off the market in just a week at its asking price of $6,995,000, this exquisite property at first look called for a ‘custom boutique’ aesthetic to provide that unique and special feel upon entry…Game on!
Studio D’s San Francisco staging team, Florence Attinger + Jessie Galloway knew that custom pieces would be needed to enhance this stunning Russian Hill home and set it apart from others. With a modern backdrop and vintage feel in mind, they set out to the Alameda Antiques Faire, which takes place on the first Sunday of every month in the East Bay, to find one-of-a-kind pieces that would add flair and sophistication to this already remarkable property. With a passion for hidden treasures at flea markets, our staging team was able to find two oil painting portraits that were perfect for the property’s impressive office, adorned with molding and deep, grey walls. The portraits, featuring two strong women, were painted onto canvas, and the team had them stretched and custom set in carved, gold frames to complete the look.
There was still one last thing needed to finish off the office’s sleek, custom look. Determined to find an accent piece to tie together the portraits of the two women, the duo went to SCRAP, one of the nation’s oldest creative reuse centers, to hunt for something that to its original owner was considered waste, but to a creative eye looks like a family heirloom rich in tradition. After a long hunt, the vintage, weathered boxing gloves you see hanging between the two portraits were discovered, completing the curated and custom look of the office.
