Sleeker than the iPhone 6
One of the perks of staging high end real estate is getting to work inside incredible spaces, and here at Studio D we’ve pretty much seen it all — from sprawling estates in wine country to elaborate penthouses on Park Ave. But every now and then, there’s a property that’s just so insanely cool, it makes our hearts skip a beat. Enter 2 West 67th Street, apt 6/7c. This 3 bedroom, 2. 5 bath- apartment located on Central Park West has been completely gut renovated, with a sleek and modern interior that belies the building’s more traditional bones. Huge, two-story windows flood the living room and entryway with sunlight, and the use of glass in the floating staircase and landing provides an infinity-pool-like experience (sans water). It’s design is as smart as it is sexy, with lights that illuminate the floating staircase, remote-controlled shades, a TV that seamlessly disappears into the fireplace mantel, and of course…iPhone wall mounts in every room. Form and function haven’t just “met” in this home, they’re in a committed relationship.
Staging this sleek apartment was an exciting challenge, as we carefully chose pieces that highlighted the apartment’s creative and intentional design. We went with a light and neutral palette for most of the furnishings, so as not to detract from the apartment’s inherently clean and airy feel. A large white sectional helped frame the living room’s gaping windows. Abstract art provided interest and a pop of color, without crowding the apartment’s spacious walls. And then, to add a little warmth and whimsy, we used rugs with great textures — a long, silvery shag in the living room and a brindled cowhide in the den. At the end of the day, we were a little sad to have to leave 2 W 67th, but we felt confident that we had helped stage a space that any style maven or tech-savvy tycoon alike would be proud to call home.
